Scott Caines is a Certified Public Accountant with over twenty years experience in senior management in the private sector. As the major shareholder and Managing Director of the C&C Group of Companies he manages businesses involved in distribution/wholesaling/retailing of food and dry goods, automobile sales and services and LPG distribution.


He is Chairman and Managing Director of Golden Rock Development Company Ltd, the developer of Golden Rock Commercial Park, St. Kitts.


Mr Caines holds a seat at the table of several Boards in St. Kitts & Nevis as Director, including the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the St. Christopher and Nevis
Social Security Board, and the Royal Bank of Trinidad and Tobago (St. Kitts & Nevis) Ltd.
 

In the recently-established St. Kitts Competitiveness Council, he was nominated by Government as a member to that Council from its inception in 2009.


He has served as Director of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of the Eastern Caribbean and was President of the St. Kitts & Nevis Association of Chartered Accountants, during which time St. Kitts and Nevis successfully hosted a regional conference of Chartered Accountants.


As a humanitarian, he volunteers his time for the betterment of mankind everywhere, being an active Rotarian for almost 20 years and served as President of the Rotary Club of St. Kitts in 2011/12.

Errol Douglas is the Principal of E F Douglas & Associates - a small Engineering and Project Management Consultancy with development experience.
He is a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (MASCE) and Certified Director (ICSA) Canada.

​

Mr Douglas holds a BSc (Hons) Engineering, MSc (Construction) and MSc (Structural Engineering). He has also gained Certificates in Financial Management and Contract Law.

​

In 2010 he was appointed Chairman of the Board of the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) in St. Kitts, a position which he currently holds. He has extensive experience in Engineering, Project Management and Project Advisory Consultancy (1989-Present)
 

In 2009 he was the Chairman of the Caribbean Delegation to American Association of Ports Authorities. He was at the time General Manager/CEO of the St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA) a position which he held from 2007-2010.
 

He has also held the positions of Engineering and Project Management Consultant and Chief Operating Officer to St. Christopher Air and Sea Ports Authority (SCASPA).


For ten years he worked as Deputy Director Facilities Engineering and Management at the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank, and before that was the Project Engineer/Manager Sugar Industry at the St. Kitts Sugar Manufacturing Corporation.


He has been credited for contributing to a Joint Concept Paper for a Project Proposal for Fixed Link between St. Kitts/Nevis in the value of U$350m.


Mr Douglas has designed and consulted on projects with a cumulative value of over US$65m and has managed assets in excess of US$100m.

Laverne Caines is a Corporate Communications and Marketing Professional. A graduate of the University of the West Indies, she is a Director of the C&C Group of Companies. She has had fifteen years in senior management at Cable & Wireless/LIME in St. Kitts & Nevis and has worked at the level of Vice President Corporate Communications and Marketing.

 

 

She authored and implemented the Corporate Communications Plan which saw the successful listing of Cable & Wireless on the Eastern Caribbean Securities Exchange (ECSE) and the subsequent oversubscription of shares. She has co-ordinated and managed the launch of numerous products and services including conversions of the mobile network.

 

 

She successfully managed the rebranding of the company twice in the course of a ten year period. As Marketing and Corporate Communications Manager, she has been the recipient of numerous team and individual awards including the Golden Quill Award in 2002 for Communications. 

 

 

Mrs Caines also has vast experience in Event Management having worked as a Corporate Communications Liaison to Cricket World Cup 2007. She was part of the organising committee which planned and hosted the first ever CANTO conference in St. Kitts & Nevis and moderated the opening ceremony of that conference.

 

 

A Television Host, she introduced and hosted Telecomms Talk - a live television magazine programme which ran for nearly ten years on local television station. She also worked in the legal field for many years and holds a certificate in Para Legal Studies.

 

 

A strong-minded community advocate and organiser, Mrs Caines is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga, Past Secretary of the Rotary Club of Liamuiga, a Past Councilor for the Advancement of Children Foundation.

 

 

In March 2013, Mrs Caines was appointed to the Advisory Board of the IGA Coca Cola Institute. She is a Paul Harris Fellow and a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Mikaël Charette graduated summa cum laude in 2002 from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa, where he completed a License in Civil Law. He then went on to complete a Juris Doctor degree in Common Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Victoria. While studying at Uvic, Mr. Charette was a participant in an exchange program at the University of Oxford, England, where he undertook a rigorous program in International Intellectual Property Laws.

 

 

He is a certified lawyer. His education has been an ideal environment in which to develop bilingualism, multiculturalism and bijuralism. These are the foundations of the Canadian system, but also represent facets of the globalized world of today.

Mr. Charette has completed a master’s in law at the City University of Hong Kong with honors, where his research was mainly focused on International trade and Chinese Business Law. Coupled with his passion for international relations, law and Entrepreneurship he has a strong commitment to the community. Mr. Charette has a long experience dealing with Chinese investors to Canada, Europe, Caribbean’s and USA and has been the Managing-Partner in China of an International Law firm from 2009 to 2015.

 

 

He collaborated with major law firms and investment funds in Canada, USA, Caribbean and Europe on cross-border transactions, including financing and acquisitions of overseas entities. Mr. Charette was a lecturer at the Desautel management faculty of McGill University, as well as a lecturer on several forums about China, Entrepreneurship and globalization issues. He is very proud to join the promotion team of Golden Rock overseas.
